*Holder of a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Education Management from the University of London, and the Certificate in Education (Cert. Ed) a three-year full-time course culminating in the award of qualified teacher status, from London University. He is both an Associate and a Fellow of the College of Preceptors.

*A professional writer and author who has published numerous books and has, in the past, contributed full-page features to, among other media, the London Evening Standard (London's principal daily newspaper).

*Trained by BBC Radio as a freelance contributor to BBC Radio 4 talks and magazine programmes.
*Served at senior level in education management for many years, and as an inspector of independent schools with the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) in the United Kingdom.

*Former Principal of the International School of Florence (Junior School), Bagno a Ripoli, Italy.

*A former local government politician serving a London Borough, sitting on various strategic committees including town planning, licencing, police liaison and environmental health, and has served as a governor of both state and independent schools in the UK.
